MPI-104 Assessment 3

Hey guys!...

So it is almost coming to an end of my First semester of my first year. And my class of MPI-104 is almost over!!..

So this post is about what I’ve done and what I’ve learnt within my MPI-104 class.

Blogger!

So in my blogger I have fiddled around with quite a few templates throughout the semester deciding on what to do for my blog and how to set it out. The Default backgrounds for blogger were ok but not what I really wanted then when customizing with my own images I found it a challenge to make it so that things were easy to read and the background didn’t distract from that.  By adding extra elements like a counter and RSS feed that I learnt how to do it had added to customisation.

Overall blogger has been pretty interesting to learn about and use for this semester.

Flickr!

Flickr has helped me a lot this term with my animation and photography stuff and posting on my class’s forum. It was easy enough to understand from the start and the different folders I made helped me distinguish what class is what. I learned the importance of tagging images and if I didn’t not create them personally (which I did) to source where I got it from. I found looking through other peoples photos really interesting and inspiring with some of their creations that they made themselves.

Flicker was probably my favourite social networking site to work on this semester apart from only being able to add very small videos and not many it has been a great experience

Delicious!

What can I say about delicious. I learnt how it is easier to keep track of the sites I visit if they are all put into one stack. The importance of tagging all my links with tags. I found that looking through groups stacks were very interesting seeing some of the websites and links other people visit like digital art and photography. So overall while I would not normally use delicious outside my class like I would with the others I still understand the importance of it and why it is popular.

I have also tried to link all my pages together by continuously blogging about my other social media sites. I learnt for people to be interested in things that there must be a break between paragraphs

Animation Update!!

so im sure you are aware of the imminent assignment of my animation that is due next week :S  im pretty worried but i am finally getting somewhere on my animation i have the first few shots that havent got proper transitions but here we go!!

My HTML Website

Hey guys,

So of course I’m sure as you should know by now I am an animator in my First year at CSU doing a Bachelor of Arts (Animation and Visual Effects.)

At the moment I have been currently working on a HTML website for a Subject called MPI-104. So here is what I’ve done!

The Trials & Tribulations of Creating my HTML Website;

Originally I had not realised how hard it was to create a website that actually looked relatively okay within using just a notepad application. It was fairly confusing trying to get a hang of the original coding and if it wasn't for w3schools.com I don’t think I would have been able to manage getting the look I did.

To start off I had to figure out how to use a CSS code sheet properly, it took me a while to get used to the different style of code but once there I figured it out pretty quickly. I learned how to position my background image and repeat it so that it would only get down the right hand side of the page. This I thought gave me a relatively styled outline for the whole website so I could have a fair amount of information but not enough to give the “readers” an information overload.

I created a simple black style with green writing so that it stands out, I am particularly partial of the linking page to my Blogger, Flickr and Delicious, I think that having the frames in a single page can help the “readers” find more about me just by scrolling through them even though there are link on my about me homepage.

Another thing I really like about my website is my portfolio page in general. I think the alignment of the images although slightly haphazard is still in an orderly style and the image rollover with the little caption that comes up is handy to tell people what the image is.

So in conclusion I learnt that without w3schools helping me with the coding of both HTML and CSS I would almost definitely be lost and without a website, I also learnt that it takes a while to get a reasonable looking website and that without the right order of code or if you have any code missing the work is that much harder because you have to sift through more code to see what works and what doesn’t when you’re trying to change it.

anyway enough of this boring talk about HTML.

Well... surprisingly i found something EVEN BETTER!!...

its called Nigel's going to the store and is quite possibly my two favorite things put together!!

Animation Update

hey guys this is another update for my 1-3 minute animation,
so i now have 3 weeks including this one to complete it and i have got some mega awesome background for it :D :D :D

in other news, i find this video one of the most funniest things i've seen in a while, it is several walk cycles in 3D that are pretty much entirely Glitches!!!

Hey to all those randoms out there!

So, as you may have known if you've been stalking me or following this blog, i am an animation student in my first year :D previously ive been doing character design for an assignment which is a one to three minute animation.

its pretty rough trying to do so much in so little time, i am a bit on struggle street but you know trying not to stress so much about it :D

HTML Coding

hey guys,

so this is just an update about what im doing this term for MPI104

so this term we are talking about coding, mainly for the CSS and making websites through notepad for pc and textedit for mac users out there.

some of it seems really easy but there are aspects that are also sort of confusing like the whole exterior interior thing and such of the like,

VFX-101 My Second assignment

hey guys, i know i havent posted in a while BUT!! i have been doing assignments over my holiday break (how tradgic) but yeah hopefully it will turn out alot better then my first assignment haha :S

so for this assignment two it is 1-3 minutes of animation, i have a hopefully a good idea which you guys will love haha

i will be using 2D either drawn or on photoshop or toonboom or something, making the characters and settings silhouttes in plain black with either a white or blue background.
im going to try simple animation for this story to hopefully work with mostly only sections of the characters moving and or backgrounds moving.

its not a "happy ending" story haha 

so i have a fairly simple character of a boy who sneaks away from his house to go to a circus show, little does he know that the circus is a creepy freaky circus run by a tall skinny clown type character who lets him backstage to see the puppets.
the clown character then makes the child into one of those puppets and the child tries to fight the strings but is unsuccessful and the clown character makes the boy part of the show... the boy gets pulled and pushed around faster and faster until at the climax of speed the clown cuts the ties from his hands and the boy plumets into darkness... the end...


so this is my first rough character design hope you like it

MPI-104 Assignment One

hey people! whats the haps?

this is my blog-post for mpi104 detailing what ive done so far within the course, its been pretty intense these last few weeks trying to keep on posting about things and do several other assignments for my other classes.

MPI has been relatively interesting so far we have covered all the basics of Gmail, Blogger, Flickr and Delicious. things such as;
how to post,
customizing gmail and blogger,
creating layouts and designs,
and many a many more things.

so here is my progress on Blogger which i was reluctant to use at first but now i find it pretty interesting.

so far i have posted only a little including this one, i am boasting an amazing seven posts!! wooo!
this post by far is the most interesting of them Interesting post!!
ive also tried to create a simple sleek like look where the writing/font is easy to read with a plain-ish black background. i find the simple stuff more effective and efficient to see what is going on.
ive tried to create labels/tags in blogger and keep them consistent, they include such gems as;
MPI104_2012
VPA104
VFX101
social media
Flickr
Delicious
and many more.
blogger is also good for commenting and reading other peoples posts and what their interests are and such things. here is some links to comments ive contributed to some posts post 1, post 2


other things ive done within blogger is add a link list to show and join up everything that ive done so far. and of course what kind of blog would be complete without the FISHTANK!!!
anyway, blogger has been pretty successful so far according to myself of course.



let us now discuss the uses of Flickr,
flickr which im sure all of you are aware is a video and images sharing website, i find this pretty handy because i take two classes which i need to post on another forum my progress for that subject. so naturally i took to flickr like a duck on water.

so i think basically that flickr is awesome and i love seeing other peoples pictures and images and trying to figure out how they did that so i can try to use that for my own photography.
ive so far only uploaded 6 photos but i do have 2 small videos about my walk cycle stuff, (even though my walk cycle was terrible)

so all this talking about different website is getting you confused right?

well have no fear!! Delicious is here!!
its basically a giant bookmarking website, you can create stacks and sort out through all your mess of websites and keep your favorite ones here so you only have to remember the one, pretty handy right?

so as of yet i have a grand total of 2 stacks, one for mpi-104 and another for my personal usage.
these all contain a massive number of about.... eight links in total... pretty sad right? but they are mainly the ones i use the most.

Awesomeness!!

so i am an animator right, i like all things things animation and i like to most random of things.  stuff like harry partridge.
my farvorites from him include;
the justin beiber show,
stehpen the lesbien,
cole phelps super cop.
but my all time favorite would have to be michael the terrible boyfriend!!

its just the inate randomness that i admire about animations like this and how they are so unexpected and funny. comedy is one of the most hardest things to pull off within animation. we all enjoy a laugh everynow and then so why not just look these up along with other people such as llamas with hats and other things :D

As many of you may or may not be aware i am a new animator. this year so far within my class at CSU we have been doing walk cycles. they are pretty boring to do but are very essential for this field. here is a link to what i have got for my walk so far. this is just the legs but i do have another version almost complete with arms and everything. walk cycle
